Bibles under pressure
There is an urgent need for Bibles in China. On the one hand, the church is growing rapidly and many newly converted Christians want to read the Word of God. This need is increased by the fact that much Christian literature is repeatedly destroyed during raids. For the Communist Party, Christmas is a popular time for this. For example, in a large city in the west of the country last Christmas, no fewer than 1,000 police officers were deployed to put Christians behind bars and destroy Bibles.
In 2025, AVC sent funds to China for the printing of 100,000 Bibles. After printing in various underground printing shops, it was up to the leaders of the various house church networks to distribute the Bibles according to the needs of their individual members. Only through the commitment of trustworthy local partners, who were willing to risk long prison sentences, was the project able to be fully realized. We thank God from the bottom of our hearts for this.
