In dark times

IRAN
Social unrest has been raging in Iran since the beginning of January. Thousands are demonstrating against the corrupt political-religious system. The mullahs are responding with their private army, the Revolutionary Guards.

For the regime, the current purges are a good opportunity to get rid of Christians in the country as well. We are in direct contact with Christian families who are suffering severe blows of fate. One of these families lost three young cousins during the violent intervention by the Revolutionary Guards. A man whose sister fled to Turkey and is in contact with us there was imprisoned. He was accused of filming a demonstration and distributing the film. His business was burned down.

“These days are difficult,” reports Dalia*, a Christian in Iran. “You see people with tears in their eyes on the streets. When people hear that we are Christians, they say, ‘Thank God we met you!’ We Christians don't pray because we see no other way out, but because prayer is the strongest and most effective thing we can do right now.”

In the midst of darkness, Iranian Christians are experiencing how God is encouraging them and working through them. One day, a Christian named Roz* was sitting in the park in front of his house. He says that God spoke very clearly to his heart, telling him to talk to the woman not far from him: “Talk to her—I will heal her,” God told Roz.

Roz reports: “I noticed a beautiful young woman behind me. She looked healthy and not like someone who needed healing.” It didn't seem wise to him to approach this stranger near his home. Finally, he followed her.

Finally, he followed the inner urge and started a conversation with the lady. To his amazement, she said, "I threw all the Korans out of my house and asked ChatGPT what I would have to do to become a Christian. I prayed, but I don't really know if I'm a Christian now." She began to cry and said she had MS and couldn't walk without help. That day, she gave her heart to Christ and joined a home group. She is now doing much better.
