Strong start start despite cold weather

RUSSIA
Despite temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius and difficult circumstances, the new AVC Bible seminary class in Krasnoyarsk has started the academic year with great determination and commitment.

Nineteen students have started the seminary. The group consists of ten men and nine women, including one married couple, aged between 20 and 60. Some come from Christian homes, others from backgrounds of drugs and alcohol. They are all united by the desire to give their lives to Jesus and to be trained for ministry.

The first week was marked by special challenges. Due to extreme cold, the newly rented apartment was initially barely habitable for the students. Windows had to be insulated with blankets and a defective fuse had to be replaced so that the electric heaters could work. It took several days before the rooms could be heated sufficiently and the young evangelists could spend their first night without freezing.

Despite these conditions, the group remained steadfast. No one gave up. The prospective co-workers and pastors grew close together in the first few days.

Street evangelism was also encouraging. Many people, especially young people, heard the gospel. One young woman came directly from the outreach to the youth meeting and then attended the worship service. Thus, right from the start, it is already evident how the AVC Bible School is reaching people and changing lives.
