Salvation at the last moment

In one region of Ethiopia, the work of our evangelists was being made difficult for a while. The reason was not the weather, illness, or a lack of resources, but a young man whom our staff had known for years. His name is Biniam.*

Evangelists had often shared the gospel with him, but as he was a follower of the Orthodox Church, he did not listen properly at first. Instead, he distanced himself from the message, turned to alcohol and drugs, and eventually led other young people in his circle down the same path. Together, they increasingly hindered the proclamation of the gospel, and the spiritual atmosphere in the region changed for the worse.

But God already had a plan. One day, Biniam fell ill. He could not sleep at night or during the day, and his life fell apart. The AVC workers saw God's hand in this and seized the opportunity to visit him. As he lay on the floor in despair, he realized that only Jesus could save his life. At that moment, he was freed from his addictions and regained his strength.

Finally, peace returned to his home and the spiritual atmosphere of the region. Today, he is a testimony and an encouragement to the church.

Thanks to the dedicated work of our evangelists, who did not give up on Biniam, this situation was turned around for the better with God's help. We are grateful for the many faithful servants who proclaim the gospel in the scorching heat and make people disciples of Jesus.
