Estonia

Estonia is considered a model state when it comes to the integration of the post-Soviet states in Europe. And yet, traces of the Soviet past can still be found in Estonia as well.

»SECOND CHANCE«
The thrift stores »Second Chance« are so to speak the unofficial church. Here, mothers ask when the children can come back to the children's program, conversations take place, trust grows and relationships are formed. Those in need, such as refugees from Ukraine, are supplied with the most essential items free of charge.
CHURCH ON EX-MILITARY BASE
With the vision of reliving the revival of the 1990s in Estonia, Ragnar came to Paldiski as a young pastor. »Since we started receiving relief goods from AVC, our work has been moving forward« he beams. Among other things, the profits generated by the thrift stores are being used to renovate the church building, which used to serve as a movie theater for Soviet officers. A place of prayer, encounters and shelter is being created from a ruin.
