Moldova

Moldova

Moldova is also called the »poorhouse of Europe«. The monthly income per capita is just EUR 200 per month, which is many times lower than in Germany. The country hardly offers any chances for a dignified existence to its inhabitants. Those who are able, leave their homeland behind. Children, elderly persons and the underprivileged are left behind.

A DIGNIFIED RETIREMENT
Most of our home residents have a long, hardly imaginable path of suffering behind them. With us, they can spend their last years in dignity and without worrying about their daily bread.
DAY CARE CENTERS FOR THE POOREST
We enable over 180 children to attend school, provide them with the necessary materials and ensure they receive a hot meal every day. In addition to education, they learn manual skills, discover hobbies and have space to play. Agricultural projects also provide them with basic knowledge in horticulture and animal husbandry - essential in a country that is strongly characterised by self-sufficiency. Our projects protect the children from drugs, crime and exploitation. Many of them not only find help here, but also a safe home and trustworthy contacts.

Until the end of the Soviet regime, Christians were also persecuted in Moldova. The head of AVC Switzerland made his first contacts on illegal Bible smuggling trips behind the Iron Curtain. 30 years later, we are able to be part of a rapidly growing work in Moldova. In total, over 34,000 children have already taken part in our children's camps in Moldova, and more than 10,000 of them have given their lives to Jesus.
