Tanzania - Schools

Education open paths

Education plays a key role in permanently halting the downward spiral of poverty. We invest heavily in the education and vocational training of the children and young people entrusted to our care.

In four kindergartens throughout Tanzania, we offer child-orientated care to well over 200 children and prepare the little ones for school in a playful way. This builds self-confidence and makes it easier for them to start learning.

Not everywhere in Tanzania there are schools. That's why we first opened a primary school for our orphans in Kemondo and later also a secondary school. The entire curriculum is taught in English. The above-average education of the graduates is getting around. Today, 750 children attend classes in Kemondo. In the latter and in Morogoro we also have a children's home. In total, 170 kids are at home thereIn Massailand, a further 300 children receive primary school education. Many parents cannot afford the school fees, which are intended to cover the running costs of the school. By arranging sponsorships, we ensure that no one has to remain without an education.

We also provide help after they have finished school. The young people are given the opportunity to train in skilled trades, and other areas are currently being developed. The secondary school in Kemondo is deliberately designed as a technical school. Here, young people are introduced to trades and commercial professions. This experience makes it much easier for them to choose a career later on.
