Thailand

Exotic holiday paradise, permanent Asian smiles, relative prosperity - Thailand's greatest asset is tourism. The newly industrialised country has been able to significantly reduce poverty in recent decades. And yet not everything is as good as it seems at first glance. Poverty, especially in the rural regions in the north and south, and sex tourism with all its ugly consequences have become a major problem.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Our project manager in Thailand is bursting with ideas, initiatives and joie de vivre. But it wasn't always like this. His eventful life story led him through the drug milieu in Germany, through being homeless in Sweden to a fateful encounter with a Chinese man who told him about Jesus. Today, Ralf does everything in his power to enable others to benefit from the help and change he has experienced.

PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN
Various projects offer protection for around 270 children in foster families and in five children's homes. The kids, mostly from very remote areas and often in precarious conditions, are given a home, security, education and a Christian value base.
KAREN MINISTRY
Eastern Myanmar is home to the Karen people. Since the war and the resulting refugee movements, the large refugee camps and residential schools in Thailand have become a new home for thousands of Karen youths and children. ACP has been investing in the mainly young Karen diaspora in western Thailand for years through leisure activities, training courses and Bibles.
ACTION INSTEAD OF FRONTAL TEACHING
Since the end of 2022, ACP has been working with other Royal Ranger organizations to set up Royal Ranger Thailand. The youth camp gives many young people from ethnic minorities and refugees from Myanmar structure, hope and a view of Jesus. Royal Ranger tribes (local groups) have already been established and the training of leaders is underway.
