Victims report abuse, torture, and years of imprisonment without any trial or judgment. Christians vegetate in shabby dungeons or crammed into cargo containers: suffering from unbearable heat during the day, cold at night and constant hunger and thirst. Surving is difficult.

There are no signs of improvement of the conditions in Eritrea. Fleeing abroad is often the only chance for a dignified existence, especially for Christians. Most of those who succeed are severely traumatized.
