»Nursery« with prospects for the future

South Sudan is one of the five least literate countries in the world. The remote regions of the country are particularly hard hit due to their village structure.

In addition, due to the unrest of recent years, several state schools have been closed, so that often no elementary education is available within a range of dozens of kilometers. But without a minimum level of education, children have little chance that their precarious situation will ever change.

At some project locations, in cooperation with our partner, we have established schools. Partly in simple construction, occasionally outdoors under a tree, and in rarer cases also in solid construction, these educational institutions open a perspective for children and adolescents. In the evenings, additional literacy courses are held for the parents.
